About
Since its launch in 1996, the Summer School of Oncology has been sucessfully organised annually, welcoming medical students from over 40 countries around the world. A committee of medical students and specialists from the UMCG organise the program each year.
Program
Each year, the comittee designs a new educational programme focused on oncology, highlighting a different theme within the field each edition. Alongside the academic curriculum, the organisers arrange a variety of social activities. This gives participants the chance to connect with one another and experience Groningen beyond the classroom
Collaboration
The Summer School is organised in collaboration with the Medical University of Vienna, Austria. The location alternates annually between Groningen and Vienna. Information about the editions held in Vienna can be found on the website of the Medical University of Vienna.

The Summer School of Oncology has been a successful and inspiring program for many years. Since its inception, the program has been hosted by the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), the academic hospital in the vibrant city of Groningen. Over the years, the Summer School has grown and developed, with numerous editions taking place in Groningen and several memorable editions being organized in Vienna as well.
